TimberRidge Rectangular
In the TimberRidge Rectangular shelter you’ll find the most popular and cost effective structure that Timber Systems offers. Advantages to this model include the lack of a place for birds to roost or build nests, and unlike truss roof shelters, children cannot climb into the roof structure and expose themselves to falls.

Posts for the TimberRidge Rectangular shelter can be wood, either treated solid or laminated, or steel, either round or square. Wood posts can be directed embedded into the ground or installed in a steel base shoe on top of the floor slab. Steel posts are usually installed above the slab.

Wood components can be pre-finished at the factory to speed up the construction schedule and reduce job site labor. It is not recommended to pre-finish pressure treated materials, however, as the surface does not provide a good stain base until weathered. Steel posts come with one coat of primer.

TimberView Hexagon
The TimberView Hexagon shelter offers large, versatile open spaces that accommodate a wide variety of uses. Greater ceiling heights allow for better air movement and cooler temperatures while the smooth surface minimizes insect and bird litter. Yearly maintenance only consists of a power wash!

Custom Shelters
When Greenfield Village wanted to provide a protective shelter to their carousel built in 1880, they realized that a standard Timber Systems shelter would not fit their needs. But that didn’t stop Timber Systems from working with historians and construction people to provide a historical shelter that met their needs for display and security.

Often the unique features of your community can be accented by our Custom Structure. Providing something different from the norm is not only easy, but can often be done for little or no additional cost. See examples of our custom shelters in the photo gallery. Contact us with your special needs and we’ll work with you on a solution. Timber Systems has worked on historic, natural, modern and zoological projects in the past and we’re always open to a new challenge!
